Setup for this show is all day long on Friday so it’s relaxed and very well organized. Parking is close by depending on where your booth is, you may be required to do some dollying.
This was our sixth year for doing this show and in the same location, now that’s running a show the way it should be run, with the artists in mind! The past three years at least one day of this show has been lost to rain. This years weather bugaboo was wind! It was very windy Friday night after setup and again all day Saturday. Several artists arrived Saturday morning to the surprise of having their tents blown over! Never a good start to a show!
Sales were slow for most I spoke with on Saturday but weather was supposed to be good on Sunday! We were saved by one person that bought two of our largest pieces and it turned out to be our best year ever here. I spoke with two photographers, one had an average show, the other reported below average sales. One metal sculptor reported way below average sales and will not return. The two painters I spoke with, one reporting average sales the other was shut out completely. A wood artists reported slightly above average sales and two jewelers reported above average sales.
This is a fun show to do if we could ever get the weather to cooperate. It’s in a beautiful area with above average income households, the staff and the patrons are friendly and the quality of work here is high. This is one of the shows we look forward to doing every year. It’s usually good for us, some do well here, others not so well but that’s typical for most shows we do.
Breakdown is pretty simple here, parking is close by and only minor dollying required for most.
